Regular Members: Voting
Any physician, scientist or allied health professional who has completed nationally/internationally recognized training in anatomic, clinical, hematologic and/or molecular pathology, or in an equivalent/related field, as approved by the Board; must maintain status of good standing that includes, but is not limited to up-to-date payment of annual membership dues; are voting members who can participate on committees and in the official business of the Academy.

Trainee Members: Voting
Must be enrolled in a pathology or equivalent professional training program, recognized by the Academy, leading towards qualification for Regular Member status; are voting members who can participate on committees and in the official business of the Academy. Over twenty-four prestigious awards are available for Trainee Members.

Retired Members: Non-Voting
Have been members in good standing of the IAP and/or USCAP for a minimum of five years and have retired from gainful employment in the practice of pathology; are non-voting members who may serve as advisors to committees.
No Charge
Adjunct Members: Non-Voting
Any individual with interest in pathology or a related field who does not meet the criteria for any other membership category and provides the necessary information and fees; are non-voting and cannot participate on committees or in any other official business of the Academy; Academy management maintains the right to approve membership in this category.
